Warhol Factory Party
Allow us to take you back in time to Warhol’s days at The Factory, his New York City studio and a hip haven for creativity. In addition to trading ideas, collaborating on projects and having a good time, Warhol and his friends were known to gather for “coloring parties”, during which they hand-colored his drawings, collages and picture books. These 1950s coloring parties laid the foundation for his trademark practice of factory-style artistic production.
In honor of Warhol’s show at The Whitney, we’ll be recreating his parties at Laurance Rassin’s Warhol themed pop-up gallery in Chelsea. You’ll be encouraged to make your own art, drink, dress up and dance like its the 1960s.
