Dinner Party Ft. Artist, Vieno James
Join ArtsClub for a dinner party featuring work by contemporary artist, Vieno James. A multidisciplinary artist, Vieno uses a range of process-based abstractions, abstract figurations, and assemblages of material to examine and draw reference to the world of globalization, spectacle, commodification, and communication. Over dinner, Vieno will share the stories behind his works and the path he has taken as a young artist on the rise in NYC.
This event will take place in a private TriBeCa loft, which will be temporarily transformed into a gallery of Vieno’s installations. Each ArtsClub Gallery Dinner Party is hosted by art world professionals, who guide conversations about the works on view. Hosts for this Gallery Dinner Party include Nicole Ziegler (Gladstone Gallery) and Flora Donovan (Aspiring Art Lawyer).
About The Artist: Vieno James
Vieno James (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. The content within his multivalent practice stems from an amalgamation of reality. His work draws from drawing from paleo-anthropology, anthropology, travel, history, shamanism, philosophy, and his life experiences. Vieno utilizes these sources of inspiration to create assemblages, paintings, performance art, and music that lie within a contact zone called “The Land of the Black Sun.”
