Alma Thomas was a DC-based artist known for her brightly colored, poetic paintings inspired by music and nature. Thomas was the first Black female artist to receive a solo show at the Whitney and the first to be shown in the White House Collection. Learn about Thomas' inspiring artistic journey and create your own rhythmic, nature-inspired compositions in her signature style. Tickets includes lesson, all art materials and coveralls to protect your clothing.

For this event, we will also be welcoming our friends at Women of Culture, a community designed to connect, empower and inspire women through engagement with the arts.
